Shower – glass sealing
Shower – glass sealing in Central Switzerland – neat workmanship, technically correct.
Eurofugen – Shower – glass sealing in the Zürich area. We prepare the joint plan, verify substrate strength and movement, and select an approved system (neutral‑cure silicone, hybrid/MS polymer, PU) in strict accordance with manufacturer specs. Focus: Naturstein – Verfärbungsschutz. Planning priority: Untergrundvorbereitung & Aktivierung. Standards: EN 15651 / ISO 11600 (sanitary), manufacturer data sheets.
Quality & acceptance
- Uniform, slightly concave finish profile
- UV/weather‑resistant sealants fit to exposure
- Crisp edges without staining
- Ensure bond at two flanks; prevent three‑sided adhesion using PE backer rod
- Joint width/depth per plan (≈ 2:1)
Planning & preparation
Detailing at edges, reveals and penetrations is recorded in drawings. Create square, sound flanks, define depth and install the closed‑cell backer rod precisely. We verify weather and dew point; application only on dry, load‑bearing flanks. Primers are chosen per substrate absorption (e.g., clinker, fair‑faced concrete, fibre cement). Joint layout based on panel sizes and anticipated movement; critical edge zones are eased. Mock‑ups with cut‑and‑pull checks provide pre‑approval.
Application & control
Random cut‑and‑pull checks, width/depth measurements and visual inspection are recorded. Transitions at profile joints and material changes are re‑worked separately. Use UV‑stable systems and protect adjacent surfaces from contamination. Apply sealant without bubbles, fill the joint evenly and tool to a slightly concave profile. Maintain movement capability; remove masking in due time and verify edge adhesion.
Joint routing aligns with the building’s movement grid.

Planning & preparation
Clean substrates, define edges and limit bond areas; primers & backer rod are matched to substrate and width. Mock‑ups and dew‑point checks secure approval. Interfaces are coordinated before start.
Frequently asked questions (Sanitary)
-
How is silicone replacement done?
Remove old sealant, clean/activate flanks, reseal, tool and document.
-
When can it be used again?
Light splashes after skin formation; full performance after 24–48 h.
-
What joint width suits Shower – glass sealing?
Based on movement and system: rule of thumb width≈2×depth per data sheet.
-
Do you provide warranty?
Yes—per Swiss law and manufacturer terms.
-
How do you prevent mould for Shower – glass sealing?
Smooth, water‑repellent surfaces, mildew‑inhibited products and ventilation/cleaning guidance.
-
Natural stone staining risk?
Neutral, low‑migration systems with suitable primers; test mock‑ups.
-
Which cleaner before resealing?
Residue‑free, low‑solvent cleaners; stone‑safe products for natural stone.
