Roof edge – joints
Roof edge – joints in Central Switzerland – precise execution, on‑schedule handover.
Eurofugen – Roof edge – joints in the Zürich area. We prepare the joint plan, verify substrate strength and movement, and select an approved system (neutral‑cure silicone, hybrid/MS polymer, PU) in strict accordance with manufacturer specs. Focus: Lichtkuppel – Durchdringungen. Planning priority: Bewegungsraster & Anschlussdetails. Standards: EN 15651 / ISO 11600; separate bitumen/PVC/TPO systems.
Quality & acceptance
- Joint width/depth per plan (≈ 2:1)
- Crisp edges without staining
- UV/weather‑resistant sealants fit to exposure
- Documented execution incl. photo record
- Uniform, slightly concave finish profile
Planning & preparation
We verify weather and dew point; application only on dry, load‑bearing flanks. Mock‑ups with cut‑and‑pull checks provide pre‑approval. Joint layout based on panel sizes and anticipated movement; critical edge zones are eased. Detailing at edges, reveals and penetrations is recorded in drawings. Create square, sound flanks, define depth and install the closed‑cell backer rod precisely. Primers are chosen per substrate absorption (e.g., clinker, fair‑faced concrete, fibre cement).
Application & control
Transitions at profile joints and material changes are re‑worked separately. Maintain movement capability; remove masking in due time and verify edge adhesion. Use UV‑stable systems and protect adjacent surfaces from contamination. Apply sealant without bubbles, fill the joint evenly and tool to a slightly concave profile. Random cut‑and‑pull checks, width/depth measurements and visual inspection are recorded.

Planning & preparation
Clean substrates, define edges and limit bond areas; primers & backer rod are matched to substrate and width. Mock‑ups and dew‑point checks secure approval. Interfaces are coordinated before start.
Frequently asked questions (Roof)
-
Bitumen/PVC/TPO compatibility?
Incompatibilities are system‑separated; primers ensure adhesion.
-
How to avoid ponding?
Adequate slope and functioning drainage details.
-
Are your systems UV/weather‑resistant?
Yes—UV‑stable, approved systems are used.
-
How do you seal penetrations/skylights?
Proper detailing, suitable primers and elastic sealants.
-
Do you accommodate thermal movement?
Yes—via joint sizing/modulus and two‑sided adhesion.
-
Local repairs possible?
Yes after survey; detail repairs are feasible.
-
What documentation is provided?
Photos, measurements and materials.
